THE LAST LOG OF FUTURE PAST (Chapter 23)

The Last Log of Future Past (Chapter 23)

‘This is the last you’re going to hear from me. My last entry.

We’ve been through so much darkness together and it’s far from over.

The enemy had taken everything, all that was dear to us.

Like a dark shadow moving over clouds, their mission had been successful.

The Singularity happened. They found a wormhole.

They launched the colony ship. We couldn’t stop them.

Many perished and so many souls were lost. Good friends, steadfast companions.

Believers in a higher power swept away, caught up in the Maelstrom that is ANRAC.

However, all is not lost yet.

Although The Disciples had scattered, blown across the world like autumn leaves after a storm, I know that there were still a few of us left, picking up the pieces and carrying on.

What happened to them, I don’t know. I only know deep down in my heart that we will meet again some day.

ANRAC had taken it all, it seemed. But even though The Book of Shadows fell into dark hands, ANRAC couldn’t decipher the Dark Web IP addresses contained in it. The encrypted locations of our combined human knowledge.

Not all of us had been converted. ANRAC certainly underestimated the power of human will.

Only The Wanderer was left now to fight back.

He kept The Book of Light, the dark side didn’t get that.

So, there's still a chance, there is hope.

But, my memory isn’t what it used to be.

And through all the drugs, tests and the conversion they’ve put me through, my vision had become numb. I don’t know. I could have been in a state of coma the entire time.

Suspended in an endless nightmare.

I don’t know, I don’t remember.

All I know is that all these characters I met along the way felt real.

Caspar, Julie, Brandon, Li, Clark and the others. And Velvet of course, and

her last attempt at infiltrating my mind.

I was there.

I saw.

I guess time waits for no one.’
