GEIST – DISCIPLES

A disciple is a follower and student of a mentor, teacher, or other wise figure.

When I set out on the “GEIST” project, I knew I couldn’t do this alone.
Every musician realizes at some point or another that it takes an entire “village” to compose, record and produce a project such as this. I really want to thank everyone from the bottom of my soul for making it all happen. The people that shared their love for music on this project and kept the budgets and our sanity in check are listed below.

Martin Nethercutt (The Voice)
An army brat, born in Kassel, Germany, Martin grew up listening to bands like The Eagles, Kansas, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jackson Browne, Led Zeppelin and Steely Dan and a little of each style has found its way into his writing and performing. Martin moved to Homestead, Florida at the age of 6, which is why you can't hear a German accent when he sings, although through being brought up in a bi-lingual household has helped him retain his ability to sing in both languages.
After a very successful vocal career in Germany, Martin moved to Los Angeles in early 1991, where he worked with guitarist Steve Farris of Mister Mister fame. After the 1994 Northridge earthquake, Martin moved to Nashville and recorded early versions of GEIST material. After 3 years in Nashville, Martin returned to L.A. and built McCartney Multimedia, Inc., together with his wife Ruth McCartney and business partner Angie McCartney.
In 2002 Martin and Marino met for the first time at the official opening of McCartney Studios in Playa del Rey, CA. After that, Marino and Martin started collaborating on various musical material, eventually forming "GEIST."

Marino De Silva (Guitar Wizard)
It would probably take a week for you to read about the musical achievements and accolades that Marino has earned over the years.

Al Lay (The Shaman)
Al has been playing bass since he was 14, being influenced by everyone from Paul McCartney to Jaco Pastorius.
In his time, he has jammed with Black Sabbath, played & toured in a rap-rock band he co-founded called Sonny Bones, and has performed all styles of music including Rock, Punk, Metal, Soul, Funk, R&B, Jazz & Country... You name it, he's played it!
Now, as the bassist for GEIST, he is thrilled to be taking the next step on his life's musical journey.

Jeremy Dolan (The Stomp)
Brought up on Bonham, Jeremy started drumming at age ten, with his brother on guitar. At twenty two, he joined the international percussion sensation STOMP and spent ten years touring the world learning every kind of groove. In Geist he comes back to his rock roots and brings some worldly percussive aspects to this fantastic other worldly album.

Special thanks to these followers who organized everything and made it all happen:
